EDrawings Viewer is the only CAD viewer for Mac which delivers a premier 3D viewing experience for non CAD professionals. EDrawings Viewer enables anyone to quickly and easily view, print and review native eDrawings and SOLIDWORKS files in addition to AutoCAD DWG and DXF files. EDrawings is an email-enabled communication tool that dramatically eases the sharing of product design information. You can load and send files via email to collaborate more effectively with everyone involved in product development, including people who are not regular CAD software users to interpret and understand 2D and 3D designs. EDrawings enables 2D & 3D product evaluation and collaboration through the MarkUp, Measure and Section tools. With dynamic sectioning collaborators can see any internal or external view of the design they require and mark-up enables them to give precise and contextual feedback.
During our research, we found that tools like a command line, house wizard, comprehensive video tutorials and a few others were all included with the best CAD software. You should look for CAD tools that facilitate your specific interests. This is a great 3D viewer for 2D IGES ( igs ) data for iPad. Even if you use CAD software like CATIA, ProEngineer, SolidWorks, NX, etc. Which might not save IGES file directly, you can certainly use the CAD software to export your model in IGES foramt and use the app to view it. With help of this app, you can view your model anywhere you want, no matter you are at home or traveling abroad.
Features:. Intuitive and easy-to-use user interface. Open 3D (EASM, EPRT, SLDASM, SLDPRT), 2D (EDRW, SLDDRW, DWG, DXF) and associated files from: email attachments, cloud storage services (Dropbox™, SkyDrive®, Google Drive, YouSendIt®, and others), web and FTP sites, network drives. Zoom, pan and rotate your 2D or 3D CAD data. Interrogate designs and collaborate with precision using Measure, MarkUp and Section functionality. Animate 3D standard views as well as 2D drawing views. Browse your assembly components tree, configurations and drawing sheets.
View your designs in full screen and double tap to fit it on screen For more information, visit: http://www.edrawingsviewer.com. Andy Zimmerman, A Step In The Right Direction I love solidworks, to see Dassault Systems taking a step towards bringing some of their software to the mac is great to me and I seriously hope to see a form of solidworks on the mac someday.
After extensively using this application as well as a version of it from the producer’s website, it is clear that the application is lacking in power somewhat. While it is a product that begins to resolve a problem (being a lack of great CAD viewing programs for MacOS), it seems to experience performance dips and crashing when viewing assembilies to an extent that I can’t fully state as acceptable.
While I understand the circumstances of development for the producer, I can’t recommend this product in full until it becomes more stable. Regardless however, I seriously hope to see Dassault commit to producing software on MacOS as it is a growing desire (at least in the colorado machining market).

Regards, eDrawings Support Team. Psk628, Glad it exists, calling v1.0 is a stretch After growing disappointed in the poor performance of the original eDrawings version for the Mac, I’m glad to see a reboot. However, in order to be designated Version 1.0, all the the indicated functionality should actually be working. There are several menu selections and icons that don’t actually do anything. Multitouch is unusable, when it actually does anything. Undo is not implimented.
Needs a few basic enhancements: Scroll Feature Tree to selection or at a bare minimum note selected part’s name somewhere. Support for 3D mouse inputs. I’m giving it 3 stars for simply existing and hoping it gets enough support to improve moving forward. Developer Response, Hi Psk628, We regret to hear about your unpleasant experience.
Please share your concerns at along with your device details. We will attend this immediately.

Johnny Bart Goode, Update for v2.0: It’s usable! Updating this to four stars after being able to use it. So far I now like it more than the non-app store version of eDrawings. Pinch and zoom now works, and I can move the drawing using two fingers. Loses a star because clicking and dragging on the drawing doesn’t work when in “select” mode (but pinch & zoom does) and pinch and zoom.doesn’t. work in “pan” mode (but click & drag does).
For quickest navigation being able to do both seems like a must. Thank you for the update, I hope others give this a second try.
